HBCU kidz, Inc.’s CEO and co-founder is Joan E. Gosier who authors this blog.

Joan is a native of Mount Vernon, NY but moved around quite a bit in her lifetime. So she claims Baltimore, MD as her hometown because that is where she proudly graduated Class President of Milford Mill High School.

She graduated undergrad from Hampton University with a BS degree in Business Management and MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. In February 1, 2006, she helped launch HBCU kidz, Inc. with family and friends.

Prior to HBCU kidz, Inc. she served as assistant sales manager of the Keyes Company, a south florida real estate firm. She began her professional career by investing 11 years in the pharmaceutical industry with progressive assignments in district sales management, corporate financial planning, international finance, training and development, and research and development.

She has also obtained relevant experiences through successful internship experiences as an INROADER with a regional bank, Xerox, SC Johnson Wax, Deloitte and Touche Consulting and Robert Half International.

Joan pledged the Gamma Theta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Spring ’88.

Most importantly, she is the wife of Thomas Gosier and a busy mom of three inquisitive daughters, Tomeara, Toleah and Thomasina. She is inspired by her loving family and one of her greatest role models is her mom who graduated high school valedictorian. Her mother instilled strong values regarding family heritage and believed in putting “acquired education into practice”.

Her long term vision is to significantly impact the lifetime success of the children who are among the CLASS OF 2028!
